Special note: This location is unmatched for walkers, cyclists, responsible motorists:
This accommodation is very convenient to the pier, shop, post office, surgery, village hall and to both the island's licensed restaurants. The location is ideal for those on foot, or for those who would not wish to drive home after an evening out. It is also particularly suitable for persons who do not wish to stay for exactly seven nights, since the booking arrangements are very flexible.
Please note that there are no B & B establishments less than 3 miles from the hotel or "pantry" restaurant. There are in fact six other self-catering cottages within three miles of Scalasaig, but none of them offer our degree of flexibility - and even a three mile walk both ways can be quite a stroll. Stay with us and enjoy close-proximity to the award-winning hotel plus peace-of-mind and independence.
€ We welcome payment by Euro and major creditcards
TOTAL FLEXIBILITY: arrive and depart on any Sunday, Wednesday or Friday, reserve any length of stay.
ADJOINS "THE COLONSAY" HOTEL & RESTAURANT: The social centre of the island is close at hand, with convivial bar, affordable wines and excellent food based upon the finest produce. Serving meals all day, and wonderfully child-friendly!
FULLY EQUIPPED for self-catering, our lodges include all bedlinen and towels.
IDEAL LOCATION: sandy beach, bar, restaurants, shop, pier all within 500 metres.
RECOMMENDED: "This will be our sixth successive year and it keeps getting better."
PETS WELCOMED: No additional charge for well-behaved pets.
TOP QUALITY TV & RADIO RECEPTION BY SATELLITE
NOTE THE VALUE: We do not charge "extra" for bed-linen or pets; because of our location, you could choose to come without a car; and we offer incredible flexibility for varying lengths of stay.

These three chalet-type lodges are heavily insulated and double-glazed throughout. There is wall-to-wall carpeting except in the kitchen and bedroom areas, which have cork tiles. Each lodge sleeps five with a double-bedded room on the ground floor and a large upstairs sleeping area with three single beds; a child's cot or additional folding adult's bed will be provided at no additional charge. We also have a slightly smaller lodge without a verandah and with just one bedroom, equipped with a single and a double bed - for price details, see "Mini Lodge" box, below. All lodges have a comfortable groundfloor lounge.
Heating is provided by convection radiation and powerful electric fan heating in the lounge area and oil-filled electric radiators in the sleeping areas. The bathroom has an efficient electric shower and there is constant hot water for the bathroom and kitchen sink. The kitchen area is equipped with extractor fan, refrigerator, electric kettle, microwave and ceramic-topped electric cooker with full-sized oven. Electricity is supplied via a digital meter at 10p. per unit inc. 5% VAT. There is also a colour TV, emergency light and smoke detector. A utility room for communal use is equipped with washing machine and deep freeze.
Drying facilities and barbecue are provided within an area of private garden ground reserved for residents' use.
As our standard arrangement, all bed-linen and towels (except beach towels) are included in the price and the beds are made up prior to your arrival. If you arrive without a car we will meet you at the ferry and carry your party and luggage to your accommodation free of charge, this service is repeated in reverse on your departure.
Well behaved pets are welcome, on the understanding that they will be kept under proper control.
The lodges adjoin the hotel where on- and off-licence sales, bar lunches and bar suppers are available. They are also a convenient walking distance from the local shop/post-office, the Church of Scotland church and the pier. May MacKinnon's licensed "Pantry" is within 400 metres, serving a wide variety of meals and snacks.
Tariff until Easter 2008
Weekly rate includes VAT at the normal rate, courtesy car, all linen and services as detailed elsewhere.
Bookings are accepted on a very flexible basis - arrive and depart by any ferry in winter, or on any Sunday, Wednesday or Friday in summer, and stay as long as you wish. For a stay of more than a week, calculate rental pro-rata. For shorter stays, please refer to the tables given below.
Lodges must be vacated by 10.00 on day of departure during the winter ferry timetable or 14.00 during the summer ferry timetable, to allow us to make adequate arrangements for incoming guests. (see Getting to Colonsay for details of the ferry timetables). Please note that in summer our standard changeover days are Sunday, Wednesday and Friday.
