Balnahard Farmhouse sleeps up to 10 people and is the ideal retreat for family holidays, as well as for smaller groups or couples wanting to get away from it all.

The house is a traditional 1860's West Highland farmhouse, set within it's own fenced garden, 2.5 miles from the public road, and surrounded by 1200 acres of conservation farmland, all rich with bird and plant life.
There are numerous walks from the house, with miles of coastline to explore and hills to climb.

The accommodation is generous enough to sleep 10 (in four bedrooms), and care has been taken to equip the house to reflect this, without losing it's homely feel. There are comfortable traditional furnishings throughout, and shelves of books, including Colonsay reference books, as well as general reading to suit all tastes.

Balnahard has a spacious well-equipped kitchen, with a newly-extended dining area that boasts an extensive sea view. The cosy sitting room has a large wood burning stove and comfy sofas, and the sleeping accommodation comprises 2 double bedrooms, a twin room, and a further large bedroom which sleeps four (twin beds & a set of bunks). There is a family bathroom, as well as a shower room with washbasin & WC.

The house is surrounded by garden; at the rear is a drying green, whilst at the front there is a shingle seating area, and a large lawn.

The 2.5-mile track that runs to the house is restricted from use by other vehicles, which means that it is very peaceful. Please note that it is an unmade road, and although a 4 wheel drive vehicle is not necessary, cars that are very low to the ground are not recommended. The average family car can negotiate it with no problems.

      

Prices for Balnahard Farmhouse range from £350.00 to £970.00 per week, dependant on season.

Our weekly prices include bedlinen, towels, gas, electricity and firewood. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are also welcome. Good discounts are usually available for smaller parties and for bookings of more than one week outside of peak times.
