Colonsay and Crianlarich ...
The Byrne family - residents of Colonsay since 1978 - purchased The Crianlarich Hotel last year. Resident manager Nigel Bird will welcome you on your way to or from Colonsay - Nigel says that he has set up a special "Colonsay" discounted rate; there are also deals on LateRooms.com and Bookings.com
Crianlarich is a convenient stopping point for either Glasgow or Edinburgh and is surrounded by magnificent scenery - you might care to climb one or two Munros if you have time to spare.
After just one year in the new ownership, The Crianlarich Hotel has an AA rating of 3 Stars, with a merit score of 75% (an important detail). The new dining-room has been awarded One Rosette - putting it within the top 10% of all dining establishments in the country! In addition, at the Scottish Hotel Awards 2010 the following awards were received:
Winner: Best Value Hotel, 2010
Silver Medal: Public Bar Food, 2010
Silver Medal: Best Business Turnaround, 2010
