FLYING VISITS

In addition to our excellent ferry service Colonsay has a splendid air-service, so there is plenty of scope for frequent and "impulse" visits to the island. It is quite possible to "mix-and-match" - perhaps fly out to Colonsay on Thursday afternoon, and return by ferry a few days later; or in fact choose almost any combination of days (just as long as you do not try to include Saturday as a day of travel). And of course we have a magnificent 500 metre tarmac runway, so private pilots are welcome (PPO).

THINGS TO DO:

Come for a round of golf, 18 holes, 4470 yards, 200-year old links course

Come for the fly-fishing, brown trout, open March 17th - September 30th

Visit the Brewery or the Bookshop, sample the Oysters and Honey

Come to enjoy the birds, flora and incredible scenery

Come "MacPhie-bagging" (more-manageable than Munros)

Come to enjoy the sky at night, away from city lights

PRACTICALITIES:

Reserve your short-break accommodation

Perhaps book bicycles from Archie MacConnell (Tel. 01951 200355)

Get a pre-view - some flights have been posted on YouTube, just search on "Colonsay"
